I was excited to receive the fat separator. I love the looks of it but the red button does not work. Without this to release the stopper at the bottom of the container, it is worthless. I have contacted the vendor and will update this review if the issue is resolved.Edit: very prompt response from seller. A replacement was sent which works perfectly. Love this. It now works easilyp to separate the broth from the fat.I use this to separate the juice from the fat of a pork shoulder when making pulled pork. After several uses, I've only noticed a few drips leaking from the bottom plunger. I recommend setting it on some paper towels while waiting for the fat to rise to the top to capture the few drops that do escape. Other than that minor deduction, it works as advertised and is simple to use. The separator disassembles for easy cleaning.This fat separator solved my defatting my braised short ribs problem. Very efficient! I love the design! After 4 uses (a few months) the bottom cracked. I emailed the seller who was courteous and professional. He replaced it immediately. I buy with confidence from this seller!!!I have only used it once so far. Trying it out before the holidaysTo be honest I've only used it one time but it worked great. I had made a beef roast in the crockpot which had lots of broth when finished cooking. I did let it cool a bit before transferring to the separator but it separated the fat from the usable broth within a couple of minutes. I make a lot of meat gravies so I'm hoping this holds up well.it works greatUsed once and it worked great. Used a second time and it was already broken. The stopper does not stop liquid from leaking..I wasn't expecting this to seal properly, but it worked perfectly. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I felt it's want going to last. It has a flimsy cheap feel to it and that rubber plug will probably dry rot.. but who knows..
