I chose size large and color grey and I'm happy with the purchase. Obviously the main draw is the visual effect, which is easy enough to initiate, but I wanted to highlight some aspects not mentioned by other reviewers. Things to note:- It has a matte finish and looks great. It doesn't appear to be a fingerprint magnet, unless perhaps you're a greasier than average person.- Spinning effect duration is very ample. I gave it a solid spin and timed it at 5 minutes! Average spin time is probably ~3 minutes, if you're not going for gold- The bearing is whisper quiet. I have to get pretty close to be able to hear anything, so ambient noise should easily mask it- The base has a rubber coating, helping it to stay put while also dampening rotational sound.- Mine came with a carrying case for some reason (pictured) I can't see using it for this toy unless you have it at work and you suspect one of your plebeian coworkers might steal it out of jealousy. But seriously, it could make a nice carry case for something else more useful.The negative reviewers must have received some knock-offs or they're unable to produce average hand rotational force. I'll be sure to update my review if this thing falls apart or catches fire from a cheapo bearing.Quality item. It is a good stress reducer for me. Very pleased. Definitely go with the white on black. I returned the solid gray. The white stripes made a difference.I'm ADHD and I work for a Special Needs Program... I love having little small distraction toys at my desk because I work literally my full 8 hours a day sitting there.I found this and (although it's a bit pricey) decided to give it a shot. It arrived at my home and my husband played with it for HOURS. This turned out to be a good thing bc there was a little annoying squeak at first that his play got rid of by that night.I took it to work and sat it with my other trinkets. Immediately it caught the attention of everyone that came in. They loved it! It's now a thing... Everybody cannot resist the urge to give it a spin when they come to my desk. I secretly think some come to my desk JUST to give it a spin. ?I enjoy this beautiful spinner and well. I love the way it looks and how quiet it is. With that being said...Could they come down on the price a tad? It seems like alot for what it is but then again... I don't regret the purchase. It won't be something I buy for friends.. only bc of price... But I'd recommend if they want to spend the money.My wife gave me this for Christmas to add to my desk toys at work. I love it, and it has been a major hit with my coworkers who also like to fidget while we solve problems. It's a bit pricey for a spinning desk toy, so I only gave it 4 stars for "value for money", but it is certainly nicer than the average spinning desk toy.Love hour heavy it is, super addictingIt's nicely heavy, and spins long enough to be soothing, but the advertising should be clear that it's in two parts; the base on which it rotates falls out when you pick the sphere up because the base isn't attached to the main body. Yes, after it arrived I found that fact buried in the small print of the Amazon writeup.You can't just throw this into your pocket and travel with it; you also have to keep track of the base that fell out of it when you picked it up. The Amazon writeup says the base is unattached in order to give access to the bearings, but it seems a strange engineering choice to not make the base part of the structure, or at least to make it screw in.If you're just buying it to leave it in one place on your desk forever, this doesn't matter to you and this review is irrelevant.One star off for the odd engineering choice, and another for not making it clear in the writeup.Edit: The seller sent a gracious email, so I upgraded a star.Yes, It's mesmerizing kinetic desk toy,my family love it. The entire toy is metal and made of high quality. The color of the toys is very even and beautiful. The most amazing thing is that the bearings of the toy are also great, the rotation is very smooth and quiet.There are two ways to spin, one looks like rising and the other falling. I like to fall slowly. With very little effort, it can rotate for about 75 seconds. The helix on the surface of toy seemed to slowly drill into the table. It only takes a few seconds to see its decline calm down and feel much good. It is a good companion for stress relief.My children like the rising spin, and I know they like passion. They spin it very hard, with a spin time of over 180 seconds. If there is enough power, I believe it can spin over 200 seconds.Awesome toy, I bought another one. Ready to give it to children on Christmas. Yes, they will absolutely love it.This little do-dad was supposed to be a gift. I should've never opened it to see how it worked! Needless to say, it was never gifted. We (my family of 5) keep it in a.m area that it's passed by frequently and everyone who walks passed it, turns it. Sometimes we take it with us to another part of the house and turn it for a soothing break from our minds. It's hypnotizing and helps get our mind off of whatevers "eating" at us. It doesn't solve any of our problems, but it helps us to not stress over them. It occupies our mind, if you will.I did gift another item similar to this to the intended party, but this one stayed with us. Im going to get the other colors. We currently have blue. It's a beautiful teal color. Oh, the weight keeps it going for a long time!The ball is very tiny (check the dimensions on product page) and is not heavy enough to have great spin.1. Because of its tiny size, not easy to spin with entire hand2. Very good finish but inside ball bearings cause very low scratching noises which increases friction and reduces spin time3. Product cant be returned, only replaced so make sure it is something you really want to have4. Base is made of plastic. Would have been better if seller stuck an anti skid sticker at the base so that the ball can have a stable mounting while trying to spin (its really light so easy to hit it and send it flying off your desk)Product claims more than 120 seconds spin time but the one I got spins for a max of 60-70 seconds with high spin (one hand, 3 fingers)... Hardly worth the price tag.Have sent my product for replacement... Will update review if replacement is up to standards specified.All you get is a small sphere rolling for a few seconds. It is mesmerizing for a few minutes, and then becomes an extra weight, as the reality dawns upon you-that it is not worth the 750 bucks that you've paid for it. Much better can be bought for much lesserToo small. Base not heavy enough and entire thing wobbles and falls off smooth surfaces. Even if you are able to rotate it on a flat but rough surface, you will struggle to rotate it for more than 20 seconds.The product has a plastic base even though it is advertised to have a steel base. This reduces spinning stability so it wobbles and stops sooner.
