I bought this because it was cute. The opening of the beak where the egg whites are supposed to come out sometimes clogs. It can be more trouble to use this than to simply crack the egg and use it's own shells going back and forth as the egg whites drop out. If you have small children it is a neat way to get them involved with helping in the kitchen. The product does separate the egg whites from the yolk when it doesn't clog.Works easy - gift - they love itI keep it as a decoration in my kitchen, but it doesn't separate eggs as well as I hoped it would.I haven’t used it yet, but it is so cute I don’t care how functional it is.See aboveI saw this used in a youtube video and had to have my own. I normally separate eggs the old fashion way but this device is both super cute and functional so it makes a nice addition to any kitchen!!Technically this is a completely unnecessary purchase when you think about it but for older folks, it makes separating egg whites a lot easier. My mom has arthritis in both hands and her dexterity isn't what it used to be anymore so this device makes the process more convenient since she can just use one hand to the separating.I just crack an egg into and then shimmy the egg whites out via it's beak. Looks like the little birdy is throwing up haha, anyway, you're left with the egg yolk inside.The quality feels good and sturdy in the hand, and it was well packaged in a bubble wrap and envelope. Be careful handling because this will probably shatter if it falls from a tall height. If you like cute and functional helpers in your kitchen, then you should totally get this little guy!Cutest darn little egg separator there ever was.Its smaller than I expected it to be but I love it.Doesn't work. It simply doesn't work. I thought for baking it would be so much easier.. oh no more work than doing it the old way of moving the egg between the cracked egg shells. Waiste of money time and effort. The egg white doesn't drip or flow from the opening good at all so I was standing trying to get the egg white to come out of the opening and had to pull the membrane(?) From the mouth with my fingers. Not helpful. So gross.I used this for large eggs and had to shake the whites out. The top hole and the beak hole is too small. I end up dripping the whites down the outside and spending far too much time trying to separate the egg. I'll probably give it away as a gift since I ended up just using it as a decoration and separating the yoke the old fashioned way in the shell. It's just as messy and way quicker.The inside where it separates the yolk from the white is on the rough side and breaks the yoke sometimes. The hole is so tiny the white has difficulty getting through. The product would be absolutely perfect and a five star if they would make the whole just a little bit larger and ensure that the back side is smooth with no roughness like the outside of it is. But for the money it's a cute item for your kitchen if you like to collect chicken chachkies.It's cute, but the hole in the beak seems too small and the egg white has a very hard time separating (which is the only function of this thing). I really need to twist, tilt and shake it to even start it coming out. It finally separated after like 2 minutes... Wife and I saw this thing on a TV show and it seemed to work much better. Maybe this is hand crafted and mine is just a millimeter to small, not sure but for an egg separator it doesn't really separate eggs very well at my house.J'ai acheté ce produit pour que mon fils, assez maladroit et peu sur de lui, puisse casser les oeufs lui-même lors de nos préparation culinaires. Sans, il casse complètement les oeufs, ou met des coquilles, et ne sait pas encore casser au milieu pour la séparation du blanc et du jaune. Ici, le rebord permet de casser l'oeuf plus facilement, puis de tout mettre à l'intérieur du poussin, qui va ensuite recracher seulement le blanc. Le bémol : le blanc est souvent épais et met beaucoup de temps à couler, il faut donc être patient, mais c'est souvent le cas quand on cuisine avec les enfants de toute façon ! Je recommande pour cet usage, par contre, je ne vois pas très bien l'utilité en tant qu'idée cadeau...
